that was just so great to see the chip moving into the place during soldering. thanks for sharing. great video.
I use an ultra ...
I use an ultra sonic cleaner to get the corrosion from under the BGAs from water damage, but I might try that too in an extreme case, thanks for the video.

BRAVO ! Thank you for sharing. Maybe others will be as kind as you are to show good techniques. all the best. PMJ

Desoldering: 320°C Resoldering: 300°C Airflow is a bit blow normal. The reworking station indicated "30", but there is no dimension claimed. Lothar
What is the ...
What is the temperature when desolder and solder and in what speed is airflow? Answer please, didnt find anywhere else, or in places that i find they are a layers :) bad english, sorry.
Usually there are ...
Usually there are printed L-shaped marks on the PCB to align one corner of the chip. Check this before desoldering the original chip. You also may add your on marks, but be careful not to wipe them away when cleaning the PCB. It's not necessary to align the chip extremely accurate. Just make sure, the right pins touch the right contacts. The final alignment is done by the chip itself as you can see in the video. The surface tension of the molten solder does the trick. Lothar
Thanks for ...
Thanks for recording this video, I just have a question. When you put the bga chip back on the pcb how do you align chip with the pcb ?
It's called "vacuum ...
It's called "vacuum tweezers" To view the comments, just look below the video in youtube. There are 28 pages by now and you can find the answer above on page 28.

ok I've tried to find in comments but can't find even on google. Thought I would just ask. What is that tool called to get the chip off of the board after desoldering the chip?
Thank you for ...
Thank you for posting this video!!!! I will strive to have skills like yours!!! He pro
Thank's You can ...
Thank's You can find all the details in the other comments. In brief: Aoyue 899, 0.5mm standard electronic leaded solder. Lothar
what kind of ...
what kind of soddering iron, etc did you use? plz include the size of sodder. U my idle and pro!!! xD
The temperature ...
The temperature during soldering is lower than during desoldering. Also I was a little lazy. ;)
tnx for showing ...
tnx for showing foil-method. but why u not use it then u resold chip? do u use "solomon" solder-iron? :)

Thank you very much! I don't know Aqua Teen Hunger, but will give it a try. You might also enjoy the music of "Jorisma". It's free. Have a look at jorisma.bandcamp.com Lothar

Music reminds me of the Ghost of Christmas Past from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Good video, very precise with those solder balls!
Well, leadless ...
Well, leadless solder is much more brittle. In alloys lead is often added to improve mechanical charateristics. Leadless solder points are not as shiny as leaded ones. When using a microscope you can see why: They are sort of porous. Together with the increased hardness of ll-solder the solder points tend to break ways earlier when exposed to mechanical stress like vibrations or thermal expansion. The XBOX problems would not have occured with leaded solder. Lothar
"Leadless solder is ...
"Leadless solder is a mess to work with!" Tell me about it. I bought a large reel of the stuff to be eco-friendly! :( Sweet video. I commend you for your patience in dealing with comments from enthusiastic newbies, who want to perform the equivalent of open-heart surgery, whilst never even having applied a band-aid before! LOL

Pasta saldante di ottima qualità e liquido flussante di tipo no-clean. Complimenti :-)
