that effects only mosquitos and is completely non-toxic, keeps mosquitos at a juvenile stage. They never mature to the stage where they need a blood meal. I can't remember the last time I got bit by a mosquito in the metro. There are far more effective ways to deal with malaria than DDT. A cure for malaria is far more important that legalizing DDT. DDT is not the answer so stop fixating on it.

You are missing the point entirely. DDT is not man's salvation. Mosquitos (and all other insents) quickly build up resistance to all pesticides, and many species are already immune to DDT's effects. Yes it saved lives but we can't be overly selfish or ignorant to long term effects. DDT is fat soluble and persistent, it builds up in the environment, we damage the ecosystems we damage our way-of-life. The fact that people get sick as they age doesn't hold water, younger and younger people are getting sick today. DDT has affects on the nervous systems of human and is cancerous. perhaps all the cases of Alzheimer, dementia, and cancer are a result of the usage of the chemical.
