What the americans ...

What the americans did this day to hiroshima/nagaski is a very embarassing moment for the humanity. So many innocent people died, and a wonderful city became ruins. I stand for peace and love, stop all these wars!

War of any magnitude is wrong. Both America and Japan are guilty of it. Now everyone just shut the fuck up and go home.

It was an air burst ...

It was an air burst. The principal military advantage of an air burst over a ground burst is that the energy from the explosion is distributed more evenly over a wider area; however, the peak energy is lower.

That is not an answer.

You are only 14- ...

You are only 14-year-old, there's still a lot of history for you to know. 1) The role of the Allies was not to "conquer" Japan, but to defeat him. 2) The casualties from the bombs were not "millions and millions". 3) Harry Truman was perfectly aware that the bombs were going to hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki. 4) The Cold War was not triggered by the atomic bombings.

It reminds me of ...

It reminds me of those who say that the majority of the people who died in 9/11 were not American (lol).

"Those bombs saved ...

"Those bombs saved thousands of lives including several of my relatives who would have had to invade japan..." - more conjecture - no one can be sure Japan would not have surrendered before any planned invasion which was months away - if you want to align yourself to the propaganda fed masses then that's your prerogative

And where did you ...

And where did you hear that? There were about 200,000 casualties.

More people died ...

More footage would be great.

the U.S. NEVER ...

the U.S. NEVER DROPPED THE BOMB, this is fabricated BBC and Japanese lie and propaganda. WHAT REALLY happened was the japanese warcrimes were so great against humanity that GOD HIMSELF came down from the heavens and smoted the devil's servants in holy litanity, and to purify corrupted lands of the earth. That and japanese should have closed the doors on microwaves when in use, you get alot less cancer and warmer food if you do. Stupid hiroshima people

anything can be ...

anything can be said at all about such fiendish devices) is that they rendered this sort of slaughter unecessary. They also played a role in preserving an uneasy peace (the Cold War) until the Former Soviet Union collapsed. Speaking as an old Cold Warrior, I consider it a fight worth winning. Believe me, you WOULD NOT want to have lived under the Hammer and Sickle. Just some things to think about, take them or leave them as you please.

FAR greater ...

FAR greater casualties than those incurred by the nuke strikes. (Please check into "The Fundamental Policy To Be Followed Henceforth In The Conduct Of The War" issued by the Japanese Government in June 1945, it was essentially a plan to fight to the last man, woman, and child against the Allied invaders) Is it cowardice to try to end the war without the kind of wholesale slaughter/genocide by suicide that an invasion would have brought? The only good thing that can be said about the nukes (If

Millions and ...

Millions and millions? Perhaps you exaggerate. Actually, there were far more casualties from inciendary raids over Japanese cities than from the nuke strikes combined. A prime example is the 3/09/45 Tokyo raid, which by some estimates may have killed as many as 100,000, and left over 1,000,000 homeless. As for Truman, his options were few and grim when he took office upon FDR's death. Beseige/blockade, and starve millions. Invade, and see soldier and civilian alike give suicidal resistance with
