(Our computers have more than enough capacity) it's a problem of representing and processing the given information in a useful way. The human brain is very slow in comparison to a computer yet it is able to perform very difficult tasks very quickly. For example, recognizing the difference between cats and dogs, this is a problem which cannot be performed by conventional computer, yet the human brain can perform the task in approx. 200 steps/operations. Not really... it depends on what you define as intelligent. If it's simply the process of understanding - then A.I. is no more dangerous than a toaster oven. If you're worried about Self aware machines that worry about their own well being, then that's a different question. In fact, I think this is one of the few times that I must disagree with Kaku. A.I.? I give it 10, maybe 15 more years before we have an intelligent machine. (...continued)
