Marxist theory calls for the creation of a communist state through intermediate socialist states, and every nation that people refer to as 'communist' were still in the transition state. What I mean to say is that, no example in the world has ever displayed a failure of communist theory, whereas capitalism, while more manageable, has many examples of complete failure, Greece being the latest example. Capitalism is the "best" option only with a inteffering state that spread the prosperity among the citizen, socialdemocracy. There hasn't been any communist state yet by the way, neither Cuba and this example above.

A lot of people seem to think that communism is somehow a 'failed' theory because the Soviet Union collapsed. What happened in the Soviet Union wasn't a failure of communism theory, but a failure to compete financially with the free market of the west. Like the guy on the video, if you want economic rationalism, then capitalism is theoretically the best option, but it says nothing about peoples happiness or standards of living. Again, look at Cuba compared to the rest of Latin America.

@hst40 talk about Guatemala, Mexico, panama, Haiti, Nicaragua, all compared to Cuba are much worse, in terms of education, in terms of poverty rates and unemployment rates. And remember those countries I mentioned have been capitalist since there birth, while Cuba has been socialist for 60 years, enduring an embargo from the most powerful country in the world .

@mtime6 well seeing as capitalism has been around for centuries and still is far from perfect , while communism is fairly new and far from perfect make your comparison , also, the first big nations of communism soviet and china, then Cuba learned from both, then lets take other Latin American countries who are capitalist, to compare with Cuba, Cuba is WAY better off then 80%

It's not a socialist state unless the workers control the means of productions and decides were the money goes. No matter what anybody says, that's socialism. Socialism has never existed. If people work in a communist world, then they will get reward. Housing, electrisity, furniture, transport, healthcare, education etc would be free. If you want ex a PS3 or a new computer then you would have to work x amount of hours to earn the value it took to produce that PS3.

Socialist State is much more accurate. The government controls where the money goes, not the workers. Because that's the only form of socialism that has ever existed. That is the point I am trying to make. Capitalism is the only functioning system that allows the PRIVATE industry i.e the PEOPLE to decide where the money goes. Communism doesn't work because even in a perfect communist world people don't want to work unless their is a reward. Hence FAILED IDEAS-stateless,classless and "moneyless"

And for the record I can't stand Glen Beck. Now I'm sure your enjoying the idea of educating a stupid American and proving me wrong in the process, but you are not. I don't support communism even in it's unrealistic Marxist perspective. I personally like being able to own my home because I work and have an income which allows me to do so. Again I'll take the time to explain to you as I did the other one, Marxist-Leninist literature and the proven effects of "communism" on human population are two different things. I'm not debating the theory of communism, I'm simply stating that anytime large groups of human beings applied their perception of communism it falls apart shortly thereafter. If you honestly disagree, than perhaps YOU should READ!! Unless there is literally no form of government at all, then there is still A STATE.

Sorry, in first point where I wrote "power of the state" I meant power of the working class and a state ruled by them as a whole, not by a burocratic minority. I must insist, you haven´t read a thing about socialism and communism. Open your choices about that, not only what Glenn Beck recommends. Communism is the latest state, where classes are abolished and therefore state is abolished too. People govern themselves by "soviets", not by a ommipresent state like in "1984".
