(...Continued from first comment.) Evolutionarily speaking, this is very helpful. It lets us hear our own kind above the roar of a stream or the buzz of a jungle. Well as I haven't this ability, unless things are totally quiet I am unable to determine what is being said to me. I'll hear the talkinng, just not understand the words...just like with song lyrics. "...it sounds more like "my independent Gwendoline" which is nonsense." I disagree, if those were the lyrics, he would be singing about a girl named Gwendoline and her independent personality. In regards to your original point, how about consider for a moment the possibility that they are telling the truth? I have the opposite situation going on. By that I mean that most people can differentiate human speech patterns from background noise . ( Continued in second comment...)

Whoa, wait a minute...this is a modern band? Holy shit they totally captured and bottled the essence of 70's blues-rock. The music, the vocals, all of it is awesome. Kudos Denmark, Now I know two things about you silly little kingdom.

I don't know what motivates anyone to claim it is easy to understand the pronunciation of these vocals. There's no superiority in getting difficult lyrics is there? Phonetically the first line sounds like "myindapenden wendaway" and while it's not too big a stretch to come up with "my independence went away" when trying to give it a meaning, it sounds more like "my independent Gwendoline" which is nonsense. But hey I can't pronounce one word of Danish and no coincidence they have Hamlet theme.
