Don't worry, there aren't that many people who talk shit about anime fans. By the way, since you're a new anime fan, here's some great shows you could watch, if you haven't already: Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (I'd recommend watching that one after Fullmetal Alchemist), Death Note, Black Lagoon, Samurai Champloo, Elfen Lied, and Higurashi (if you don't like extreme amounts of bloody violence, I wouldn't recommend those last three).
