A winter's day in a deep and dark December the La's went on Letterman and tried to pour their hearts out. I think Dave liked them.
Letterman is such ...
Letterman is such a LEFT wing cunt.
Being a smart ass ...
Being a smart ass is Lettermans 'thing' though. When he pulls that off well he's a good interviewer. But I think you're right.. he seems to fuck it up more and more because he's a cranky old man now. The first time he had Marilyn Manson on the show he made an idiot out of himself. And that was about 10 years ago.

Letterman turns ...
Letterman turns more and more into an ass every year. As I see the line turn abysmall from his widows peak to his chin I can't help but wonder if that's a space between his teeth or a parking lot for a chicklet. He introduces in this case the LAS like he has something better cooking somewhere. Anyone can be a smart ass and arrogant like him. I'm not really into the LAs but the song is catchy. Letterman on the other hand is not.

I hope you're right ...
I hope you're right. Unless you believe that both the quantity and quality of a person's creative output are unaffected, it's a subjective question. It's likely that tortured individuals are both creative and prone to drug abuse. Some of them seem to have the kinds of afflictions that are routinely treated with things like Ritalin and Paxil; some argue that such treatment might keep them away from more dangerous drugs, though I'm sure that varies a lot by case.
