Great movie.. After Gunnar Sønsteby's death a few days ago, I've read and watched a lot of material on him, and I feel, although he did recieve alot of medals and honours, that he's been overlooked. This movie should've been about him. I hope someone will make a TV-dramaseries on his life. Great, great man.

I agree! I am American, and have friends in Norway who turned me on to this film. Norway is such a wonderful country full of amazing people. Hats off to the royal family and cabinet who let them film in the actual towns and buildings, rather than on a set like we do with so many US films. It adds a completely different feel to the movie. It is a great reminder how one person, with courage, faith and an unwavering love for his country can change the course of the world.

Also, the resistance hardly did ANY significant damage to railroads, shipping or roads... They sunk a few boats out of hundreds. About the heavy water sabotage, the German wartime nuclear program was a long way from producing a bomb, even had the Norwegian heavy water been produced and shipped at the maximum rate! It didn't matter if they distrubtet the production, Germans wasn't even close to making a nuclear bomb. Like I said, everything the resistance did is largely exhaggerated.

All your points are false, The loss of Stalingrad would have meant the loss of the Caucasus but ulitmately would have made no difference to the outcome of the war... The war might have lastet for another 6 months maximum, also, Hitler would never reinforce the eastern front with troops stationed in Norway because he was to afraid that the allies would land in Norway, and Norway had to much strategic value.

Without the norwegian resistance, the outcome of WW2 could have changed. 2 ways: Hitler had half a million soldiers in Norway, cutting off railroads, trailers, convoys and boats trapped the germans inside norway at the end of the war, and was also syncronized from London as Hitler moved towards Stalingrad. Had Hitler won Stalingrad with those reinforcements WW2 would most likely have been lost. Secondly, the resistance sabotage missions denied Nazi-Germany the first nuke in WW2.
