There are a lot of stupid people commenting on this video. 'Tubes are better" and complaints about the video tones. Go play one at GC and if you don't like it, OK. Complaining about the guys playing and that tube amps are better shows one thing, your stupid. This amp is basically made for portability, I guess some of you just don't get that. The video is just showing that there are other things you can do with it. I have played a Mustang 1 and it sounded good to me. It won't replace a tube amp.

I see fender's point in their reply to you...but I don't see any cable or wireless system that would be additionally hooked into a secondary Mini amp. And would it really have "ruined" the visual aesthetic of the video if "oh no, we can see a mic in the shot; heaven forbid we realize he is being recorded professionally"?

I have Mustang I and it sounds like CRAP. The sound on the videos that you can find on youtube are just not real.
Small amps might ...
Small amps might seem like a foolish idea, but when mic'ed up they tend to sound nice. Big powerful amps overpower most microphones, making them clip in an unpleasant sounding way. It all depends on the situation. I've seen a few guys play gigs with old champs and they sound huge thru a proper PA setup. Sometimes less is more.

(cont). not great but decent- my rocktron taboo artist has killer heavy distortions. Forunately one can turn off the preamp and use a stomp box if needed. I feel like after 10+ years of disappointment, looks like we're finally beginning to get the FEEL we need from modelers (if this is any indication). Its a great price but I would absolutely pay more for 10 button instead of this stupid half-bank button bullshit. who the fuck wants to have to tap dance on stage? so stupid. gonna keep it though.

I tried the mustangs even tried out the mustang IV - thought the extra power would finally make a modeling amp feel good-WRONG!!!!!!!! blew chunks. BUT..I thought the modeler felt better than others and pick response was pretty good. so...ordered a mustang floor unit hoping it would sound better through my tube amp. Guess what? It does!! -sounds VERY good & FEELS very good too!! wooohoo!!! I really wish that they had ten patch buttons though, thats LAME. & heavy distortions are decent...

I liked this little ...
I liked this little amp, must be great to use at home with headphones and direct recording with the USB. I don't get the folks that are complaining about Fender for making this amp, if what you want is a good and expensive USA Fender amp, you can always buy the deluxe reverbs, supersonic or even the new Eric Clapton line of amps, all of those are tube amps with great quality. So stop complaining and let the Mustang Mini for those who see it's utility.

@fendermusical Hello ! I have bought the Mini Mustang a few weeks ago and I like it ! But I agree with @GPL314 : I'm not quite sure that the sound from the speaker could be as good as on the video. However, this little amp does really a great job, no regrets at all...and I must say that I can't play the guitar as well as Rick !

I agree, I have a Superchamp XD too, and sometimes I hesitate to turn it on for playing just a few minutes, and there's no headphone output. This Mini Mustang is useful in those cases.
