You obviously have never been to NYC. There is ALWAYS something blocking the bike lanes. ALWAYS.....ALWAYS. It is physically impossible to stay in the lane at all times. Also, by law a bicycle is considered a road vehicle meaning it can use any lanes a car can. The only exception is on separated grade controlled access highways/freeways/expressways/motorways. Most of this stunts were staged. The only person at risk of getting hurt from his action were himself.

You don't get it, The ticket is for not being in the bike lane which means regardless of circumstance the bike must remain in the bike lane and the cop doesn't believe there are any valid reasons not to be there - the video points out the reasons why it's not safe. A car is not the same unless road construction directed you to drive on a sidewalk and the cop gave you a ticket for it. In which case the proper thing to do is call the police on the construction crew and not go on the sidewalk.

This is funny if you disregard the fact he excuses himself for not having a proper road behaviour with other peoples faults. He is forgetting that the reason it isn't safe to ride in the bicycle lane in the first place is due to jackasses who, like him, disregard safe conduit and road etiquet (at the bare minimum). Besides, temporary signals are valid in his case. If the lane is obstructed, dismount, go through the sidewalk, resume riding the bike.

Yeah he might have been acting like a jackass and presenting his side of the story a little unfairly, but that doesn't change the fact that bicycles have the right to use any traffic lane that motor vehicles use (with the exception of Freeways and other high speed routes).
