I´ve heard Branford Marsalis, brother of Wynton , play soprano sax. Wayne Shorter also used to play it, sometimes. But you are right, Coltrane and Bechet were the best concerning this instrument.

I know exactly what I meant,this lady on radio 3 was introducing a tribute programme about Sidney Bechet [ obviously to jazz people like you & I] should be said as Beshay, she announced the name as Becket,as in Thomas a` Becket. , now for a person to be introducing a jazz legend such as Sidney Bechet, you would think she herself or the producer ,would have made sure she had it right. any way nothing serious I just thought it of interest. Thank for your interest.
