Dont know exactly how to describe my feelings after watching this movie. First time i saw (parts of) this movie i was still a kid, not older than 9 years, and remember how i was completely puzzled about the meaning. In the years following i never did forget this strange movie. Years later, i must have been 20 something, i suddenly, when zapping though the TV channels, again stumbled across 2001, just into the eerie scene of Bowman having diner in a 18-century room. I would say that it is a certain type of storytelling that is more unconventional, relying on visuals and audio rather than dialogue and character. I didn't like the movie that much myself, but I can understand why a lot of people do. I prefer the novel, but both are good in different ways.

Most humans would like to be better than the other, and so are not willing to give up rights and money for the greater good. That is why I do not believe it can be achieved. Communism is not an ideal state of anything, basically, it consists of giving up all of your rights and money, and giving it to a governing body. It not only disentivizes labor but it leads to enormous corruption. Why spend time training as a doctor when being a janitor makes just as much money? The only way the world will reach an ideal state is with hope, but, if no one thinks it can happen and thus will not try to make it happen, then it won't happen. Pessimists are not rational people.
