He was worrying about things he couldn't imagine, scenarios and pains he could not comprehend. More along the lines of: getting eaten alive, staring helplessly into a dirtied and bloodied, bearded stranger's face as he ripped into your rib cage, while all of his friends held you down waiting for their turn, already snacking on your dead father's scraps

If you wanted an action film where everyone's tough you should have watched something else. Its not your standard blockbuster although annoyingly the advertising portrayed it as such. At the heart of the film is the relationship between the boy and his poppa, not a tough grizzled super hero, a boy. The child actor was brilliant for making it work.

he was born into the apocalypse. What do you expect he has no idea what kind of a world he is living in or what dangers lies ahead of him. If you were just dropped into an apocalypse i dont think you would be casually walking around not freaking out about every little thing you hear. Have you read the book btw?

I can't stand that dumb ass little kids character , between calling his father poppa and squealing like a little girl. I wanted to blow my fuckin brains out having to watch him act , every time the movie got real , the kid cried , Fuckk that kids annoying..
We found the movie ...
We found the movie emotionally shattering. My wife and I wept like children. Maybe it's because we have a 3year old boy... Witnessing the love of a parent for a child in the face of incomprehensible odds .. stayed with me for weeks, Then I got the book which just re-opened the door again. The last movie that did that to me was Saving Private Ryan; when the military shows up to tell the privates mother her boys are dead - and she sinks to the ground. Damn.
