I mean it's basically a history textbook of how God revealed himself to us and promised and delivered our Savior. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John were not written by there memories alone. They were filled with the Spirit of God and were directed in what to write down on their papers. Just as Moses was directed with the 10 commandments. Just as the Israelite's were directed out of Egypt. Just as a barren women then and today are able to conceive miraculously. Just as a stage 4 cancer is miraculously healed. Or a paraplegic walks again. They were written by God's direction.

Yes, He said it is finished and that forever changed the way we come to God. Used to have to go to the temple and make a sacrifice for our sins through the high priest in hopes that our sacrifice would be accepted but now that was taken care of when Jesus shed his blood on the cross, once and for all. It hasn't bothered majority of Christians since the Bible was mass published. Not technically recollection of ones memory. Think of it as keeping a diary. Mathew, Peter, John, Jude, and Peter literally knew Jesus. Paul who wrote majority of the books in the New Testament; persecuted Christians until Jesus appeared to him on the way to Damascus. Revelation was not a recollection of memory but rather visions shown to John the Apostle. Many other books were letters written by Paul.

Doesn't that bother you though? A council of men decided what was worthy of being added to the bible and what deserved to be left out instead of just putting the whole thing in? The old testament was translated from Hebrew which is a pretty broken language and no one has that goo d of a memory that they can accurately remember what happened several decades ago in detail without some things getting left out.

Yes you are totally correct but when you began to debate that is not of God. If God is in it the person whom you are speaking with will be prepared in heart and mind to receive it. But isn't it out job to help those who are lost find Christ. I would be lost if it wasn't for prayers of family and friends. They showed me the way to Christ. And when we finally understand what Christ has done for us, we start wanting to know more about him; wanting to get closer to him and wanting him to lead us in every part of our lives. So little by little we have to tell them. That's our job. And if they still don't believe; we still pray for them.Thats all we can do and hope for the best.

Showme87 nomatter how much you try to explain it to unbelievers they will not be able to grasp it without the Holy Spirit's help. The carnal mind CANNOT understand the spiritual minded things because they are spiritually discerned. Hi... you are right; several decades, not several centuries. All the books in the new testament were written within 100 years after his death. Still 500 years before the Koran was written. Old Testaments were widely available to the people. That's why stories about Adam and Eve, Abraham and many other are similar in the Koran with minor changes in facts.
