Too be honest both relationships with inuyasha were important to form who he became in the end. Apparently not many people have seen the final chapter of inuyasha because the dynamic of inuyasha/kikyo and inuyasha/kagome were explored and there's really no argument about who is better for who they both were important to inuyasha.... not to burst anyones bubbles but kikyo dies.... no she didn't.
