I know it's nitpicky... and you can ignore it, but I have to point it out... because I can't help myself... You said that the M224 is an 80mm mortar... but it's a 60mm mortar... For reference... 60mm is a little less than 2.5 inches... so you're launching a shell that's roughly the size of a baseball... 80mm is right around 3.25 inches... which would be like a small cannonball... It's stupid to point it out, I know... but that extra .75 in makes a big difference when you're talking artillery

The kill radius is horrible on those things so, unless you see an imobile camper, you're basically just wasting time. SOMETIMES it helps capture points but that's only if you have a good, coherent team which I rarely see on Xbox and if you do they usually don't waste a team-mate spamming mortars on random spot when he could be providing ammo, supperessing fire or taking out land vehicles in a jiff. Smokeys are much better but should not be relied on and normally aren't used for the above.

Camping? stop referring to call of duty terms, Look in real war, Would they rush ? No.. Would they mortar? yea. Battlefield is not an arcade game, It matches a lot of real world war and weapons

Blurs their view up a tad more, specializations only add a small boost but it helps depending on what you are doing, rpg rounds go from 5 to 10 with explosive, as an example... Supression is the best for support, got an lmg firing like mad or a usas12 with frags firing-NEAR FLASHLIGHT LEVEL OF BLIND! With mortars its very effective ;)

Enemies also show up when they fire, unless your camp sniping with a silencer mortards shall see ya :P
