Rush- Red Sector A
This album helped ...
This album helped get me through a difficult year + back in '84-'85. These songs will always stick with me.
I had the ...
I had the unbelievable opportunity to see Ellie Wiesel speak at my college. If you don't know who he is, then you need to figure out how Google works. He said that he survived Buchenwald even when his sister died, even when his mother died, but when his father died he lost all hope. Yet, he went on living.... eventually he received the Noble Peace Prize. No small accomplishment for someone who had given up all hope.
They have had a ...
They have had a running feud with Jan Wenner, the publisher of Rolling Stone, and Wenner and a committee decide who gets in and who doesn't. Paul Simon is a personal friend of his, so he can be in under multiple categories, but Rush can't. It's a shame.
Geddy's real name ...
Geddy's real name is Garry Lee Weinrib. Both of his parents were concentration camp survivors. Geddy comes from his grandmother not being able to pronounce his name properly.
They had switched ...
They had switched to a new type of recording process for Signals and they initially were not happy with it, and yes because of the new type of tape they were using everything did sound muffled. It damn near broke up the band. It explains why Grace is such an angry album, and it is also better.
Greetings from ...
Greetings from Poland. Geddy's parents are Polish Jews. Deal with it.
Grace Under ...
Grace Under Pressure has better production than Signals...but I love me some Signals. Does anybody else think that the production on Signals is too warm and thick? Like syrup?

Wow. You're right. ...
Wow. You're right. I've just searched for the lyrics. I'm so sorry. Thanks man. Appreciate it. Spread the word, man. Warm greetings from Holland.
Perhaps you're not ...
Perhaps you're not paying attention to the terrifying lyrics of this song. It's one of the most powerful songs ever to address the Holocaust, and even such a dramatic song as this doesn't convince the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that Rush are worthy of recognition. God, the Rock Hall must be laughing their asses off. "I hear the sound of gunfire at the prison gate, are the liberators here, do I hope or do I fear?" -- definitely a Holocaust song...
Wtf has Rush to do ...
Wtf has Rush to do with the holocaust? >.<
Why aren't Rush in ...
Why aren't Rush in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Does the Rock Hall even care about all the Jews that were killed during the Holocaust? Or is the rock hall nothing but a bunch of selfish jerks? Damn the Rock and Roll Hall of Selfishness.

Grace Under ...
Grace Under Pressure just keeps growing on me. As a young Rush fan I didn't think a lot of it compared to their older stuff, but the more you listen the richer the album gets.
