Hard punishments ...
Hard punishments are fine, but some extreme ones would just be as disgusting as the crimes. Few people have suggested burning skinning etc. I'm sorry but i really wouldn't want my kids to wonder past a public square and see that kind of stuff going on. Some terrible people exist, and they always have, and always will. It's awful what happened but extreme violence is never a form of justice that can make society better. Only science can (forensics, CCTV, profiling, detecting psycho-genes etc).

Nicely put! I can see the logic to turning the tables, on behalf of the victims, giving a perpetrator an experience according to his or her OWN moral standards. But i think it is rarely the wisest course. If anything violence would become more accepted in general, and peaceful society would be a little further from realised. I don't agree with paying lifelong fees to incarcerate the most callous human beings though (where definitely guilty). A no-fuss lethal injection would be better.
