I love what I consider to be good music and I have the right to make that opinion. I can't agree with you that "music is music"no matter what part of the body it comes from. Some music, I'm afraid is just noise.

I guess it's ...

I guess it's because Pachelpel was very religious and played the organ at church. To me, bringing religion into the discussion dimenishes both religion and the artist.The artist, because he has to share the results of his efforts and God appears to discriminate in "passing out" talent. Just think, if God would have made Hitler a better painter. Perhaps, we wouldn't have had World War II. But who knows, maybe God wanted the war. Religious explanations are fine for some, but for me I will pass.

why do people always have the need to bring in the religious thing??? it has nothing but NOTHING to do with mastership.... these guys were good because at that time people had a hard scholarship of plenty of years... and ok, sometimes you had a genius in between... Mozart, Von Beethoven, etc... but those guys came aswell from a rich experienced family in music... i hate when all those religious people claim the right to put a stamp on this and that....

Perhaps. I would think that as technology improves artistic results would improve too. I can paint like a master (in my opinion) on my I-MAC. I compose music on my Garage Band Application. Pachelbal wouldn't have written his music if he were born before the inventions of the instruments he used. I can't effectively argue that music should be getting better as time go by anymore than than you stating the opposite. We just have to wait and see and yes I agree "that's just the way it is".
