All the hardcore Mami fans out there are going to rage hard when they see my comment: Mami existed as nothing more than a sacrificial lamb. She was the perfect image of a magical girl; one who fights for justice and love. The show was going as any other magical girl fare until she "lost her head." Since then it took on a decidedly darker tone. She was merely made to tell the viewers that it wasn't that kind of show and to hold on for the sweet rollercoaster ride that the rest of it was.
