Just to let you know, EK is trimming expenses.- couple of yrs back due to the Dubai debt crisis, Abu Dhabi rescued them with couple of billions (susshh..behind the scenes!), EK, have sub contracted their ground handling in some Asian airports to a 3rd party & I have seen just 1 staff, that too just before boarding a baggage scanning. Some yrs.back, I flew Lufthansa : FFT -> SFO, 13 hr flight & in eco. was served 3 meals. Its tough, economic times now, so everyones controlling expenses.

I agree, the ICE entertainment was excellent. They did have extra crew working on rotating shifts. Think they should have inf. us when we had done our tkt bookings..

It was a joke, i know the company pay for us but you have to remember that Emirates is a business. The A380 isn't as profitable as the 777-300ER so they have to fill them up. As far as economy goes, I think the A380 is brilliant. Spacious, quiet and all with brand new ICE systems. Of course you have to help yourself and ask for stuff during long flights. You think the crew are going to continuously ask over 400 economy passengers if they want something to eat or drink for 14 hours?

Emirates flight ...
Emirates flight from DXB-North America - A380 13 hrs flight, just 2 meals (lunch -3 hrs after take off & 4 hrs before landing brunch) in between, nothing, you have to help yourself to fruits & chocolates - ECONOMY. Even the toilets are narrow. So, the hype over this aircraft (A380) if you are 1st or business class or else be crammed in cattle class. Make sure one walks around, or lese you will get cramps in yr feet.

If I had the money I would totally fly first, if only for the privilege of boarding directly from the lounge and not having to deal with the crowds in the departure lounge. :-( Also, a flatbed would be soooooooo amazing on a long-haul flight!!!

You have two different, stewardesses..the ones who work in the air (cabin crew) and the ones who work on the ground (don't know how you call them...ground stewardess?) Could I work as a ground stewardess at emirate airlines?

thats tru, i gotta agree. althought Emirates is my favourite airline, i hate their reward program, you need 57,000 points to get a free upgrade, and thats only from Business class, economoy class get an upgrade to only Business class. I tried with Emirates last year, however i gotta say, i flew from Melbourne to London, RETURN, and i only made 9,000points, Fuckin hell, u need to fly around the world 15 times just to get a free upgrade, by then you have wasted more $200,000. FUCK THAT

Wow, you should NOT pour so much wine into the glass!!! It should only come up to the widest part of the glass to allow room for the bouquet to circulate. You can refill depending on how fast your guest is drinking... Emirates First Class should get this sort of detail right... !!!
