Jo (Josephine), Lex (Alexandra), Toni or Tony (Antoinette or Anthony), Tal (Talia or Talbot). I could go on and on. Don't get hung up on names, just enjoy the damn song.

Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics...not Elton...And probably chose the name Nikita because it worked well in the song...I don't think the name choice had anything to do with Elton being gay...Elton sang about "Little Jeannie"...but that doesn't mean he was singing about a guy named Jeannie...In the context of this song it doesn't really matter that Nikita is a boys name in Russia...Unless you're really hung up on such things...It's just a great song!
