Hey, I am looking to put fiberglass over a foam male mold as I'm building an airplane. I have a couple of questions. First, will the wax work the same on the foam as it does on the plastic your mold is made out of? Second, will a PVA disolve foam because of the alcohol? Third, what is the purpose of the gelcoat? Last, are there any special steps I should take because I am using a foam mold as opposted to a plastic one? Thanks!

Enshures a smooth texture free surface upon which you would paint, or you could get a gell coat in whatever color you wanted and then youd have no need to paint afterwards. I belive one could also just use a layer of resin, let it harded to the point of tacky, then apply a few layers of fiber glass to that. youd achive a smooth texture free surface but id would look ugly as hell till you painted it
