What I love about this video is he is scraping all the putty loose which is dry and old. Then he says to make sure to get all the dust out and brushes it away in the air. IT'S ASBESTOS YOU IDIOT. All old windows are suspect for having asbestos in the glazing. I just hope their kids were not playing in the basement.

Try. Glazol by UGL- ...
Try. Glazol by UGL- Sherwin Williams and Ace hardware, online stores too. Glazol is very similar to DAP 33. but actually works. If you buy it by the gallon you need to empty the gallon out, add soak up all the oils that are on top with paper towels, then add 1/8 cup of boiled linseed oil. Mix it really good. If you have a mud mixer that will work great. There is also Sarco Glaze. Thats thee old fashion stuff. Glazol will dry in 24hrs, Sarco takes week and there are several types

i'm currently in the process of overhauling a room in my house and the last item on the list is the windows, but before i can do anything i have to replace the glazing. this video is the first and only video i needed to watch in order to learn how to do it! excellent job!

In fairness to DAP 33, Some painters tell me they have found a solution of making DAP 33 last, but my respond is why spend so much extra time and labor to "make" it work when you can just spend a few bucks more on a better glaze?

Great video! The only problem I have is him using DAP 33 glaze.....we specialize in historic preservation of wood and steel windows in Florida.... DAP 33 does not hold up to the test of time. Many of the colleagues say that DAP 33 belongs in a trash can, at first I thought they were just being silly but after years and years of doing this and trying various products, I have to agree.

im about to purchase my first home and im completely new to home repair, i was told by the inspector that my glazing is bad and most of my windows need the glazing redone(home is early 40's stone home) and i watched this... How long will the ...
How long will the glazing stay in painted or unpainted before you have to redo it ? We have old windows and special storm windows made for them to protect them but we had them done 16 years ago and the glazing is now coming out so didn't know if that was the norm and not sure if they were painted after being glazed.
