I've had a squeaky L button and and buttons, but I've had my 3DS for about 3 months now, is it too late to return it?

My 3DS is great ...

My 3DS is great besides the ABXY buttons have a weird squeaking noise on a certain part of the bottom screen. but it's sooooooo annoying. might it be the screws in the back? or what? ideas?

My first 3ds had no ...

My first 3ds had no wobble at all. I returned it though because some of the buttons stuck and made weird skweeking noises when pressed. I got my 2nd one tonight and it has a big wobble to it. I just cant seem to get a fully working one.

Yeah, I agree. I've ...

Yeah, I agree. I've bought 2 3DS' so far. The 2nd 3DS only had a slight wobble but it started getting worse, just like the first. I returned the 2nd 3DS as well and decided that I'll just wait until a new version of the system is released. Hopefully the next version will have dual circle pads, instead of having to buy the attachment for it as well.

had the same ...

had the same problem, gave it back to the retailer and got another one. the second one has a bit of wobble, but it doesnt flip back, nor does it this damn noise. so yeah, i am happy. to all who watch this because they have similar problems; Just exchange it, get another one. seriously, no one should have hardware problems, not for the asked price. even for 'just' 170$, you shouldnt have to deal with stuff like bad manufacturing.

Dear Nintendo 3DS ...

I bought another ...

I bought another 3DS on the 27th with only a slight wobble and no squeaking. After about 2 weeks I've noticed a considerable increase in the "wobble". I'm returning it, one last time, and I won't be picking up another 3DS until it's inevitable 2nd generation model is released (hopefully it will include the 2nd slide pad). On a side note: the 'give and play' of the top screen was reduced after I placed a business card in between the 2 screens. It wasn't an end all fix and it felt really cheap

i will post a ...

i will post a response video to this explaining the issue

I had this issue to ...

I had this issue to and it drove me nuts so i put a small drop of wd-40 on ea hinge and it went away. Probably not the best thing to use but the squeaking is gone now. Lol.

Man I hate it when ...

Man I hate it when a ds squeaks, wobble no problem, squeak big problem

A wobble I can deal ...

A wobble I can deal with but that squeak would drive me f*ing insane! I'd send it back to Nintendo post haste.

Mine wobble very ...

Mine wobble very little and makes a tiny squeak. Now my question is will it get worse or stay like this? If it'll get worse then I'd rather change it. I've still got the box all the cardboard inside all the papers that came with it and the plastic bags that contained the charger, stand, and 3DS. So if I tell Target to replace my 3DS will they give me a new one without me having to pay?

Ow well I've learnt ...

Ow well I've learnt to live with it. Just a-bit of an impulse reaction to it you know :).

The back panel on mine squeaks like hell I'm going to try and get a new one from nintendo or trade it in and get another later this year.

Mine had this ...

Mine had this problem from day 1, then got progressively worse as the days went by. I had it for only about a week or two before I returned my 3DS.

maybe put oil in ...

maybe put oil in it? just kidding youve been messing around with its screen to much so thats why its begining to were down

Every Nintendo ...

Every Nintendo handheld hinge has had only one hinge on the right side. The left has always been plastic on plastic in order to save money. This is the reason so many Nintendo handheld hinges tend to break (ie. DS Lite).

A lot of people are ...

A lot of people are saying that this is normal to some degree. What I heard some people say is that Nintendo deliberately made the left hinge a little loose because of some wire that goes through it. I guess it's to prevent putting strain on the wire. But that anybody else notice that the top half of the 3DS seems to tilt to the left a bit when you have this problem?

same problem here. ...

same problem here. i "fixed" it by jamming a tiny piece of paper between the left side and the hinge. You can't even see it, it's pretty stuck in there, and the screen is unable to move because of it.

I am on my third 3 ...

I am on my third 3DS. Each time I send it in for repair, it gets some new random problem(s). This time, everything is fine except now the hinge squeaks just like yours.
