I thought the exact same thing - "that night on our honeymoon, we stayed in separate room" - why else would they be in different rooms?

The I'm 12 months old comment. Lmao
also the person who ...
also the person who did that other lyric heard it wrong. Listen carefully, she is saying, "You took me from the shelter of a mother. (note my period, Next sentence) I had never known or loved another.. in other words she was taken from her mom's home still a virgin. Her phrasing makes it difficult, but if you listen a couple times you realize it is what she is saying.
As far as the ...
As far as the dumping on the honeymoon I had always felt he was gay and married her as a beard... very common during that time
lol yeah well ya ...
lol yeah well ya got me on that one not sure what the writer of that song meant by that but with most songs I think I think there all at least a little bit subjective. I guess you can try and inturpit that as best you can or just do what I do when I cant figure out what the hell there sayin leave that part alone and focus on the music and the rest of the song. Of course there are times when most of the song is confusing then it drives me so nuts I go on to a different song altogether lol :).
Thank you...that ...
Thank you...that was very nicely said.
I think the shelter ...
I think the shelter of a mother she never knew is just referencing that her mother was not there and that in turn is why she loves him so much... he provided a parental figure that was never there in here childhood but unfortunately that influence also went away.... confirming her fear and sadness about relationships of love. she is still waiting for his love as much as her mothers in my eyes...
As I kid I never ...
As I kid I never really understood the meaning of this song, and now that I'm older...I still don't fully understand...lol "You took me from the shelter of a mother I had never known"... If she didn't know her mother how is it possible to be taken from her? Was she kidnapped as a baby?. Then after he married her he dumped her on their honeymoon? Why? I'm so confused. These are the things I think of when I'm bored...I think I need a hobby...lol
