I'm sorry pal, as much as I agree with Scottish Patriotism and that I am proud to be Scottish, in order to be proud of our achievements, you need that education. I suppose there is a level of pride from your surroundings, but not based upon history, cause you need that education first. I`m german but worked fairytale 3 months in wonderful Scottland and enjoyed the warm and friendly people there with excellent landscapes surrounding me in our little house in the Highlands and that rough but beautiful northseacoasts- like Lossimouth-Peterburgh for example thank you scotts for all that, never forget that time and as soon as possible try to be back, for sure your lovely Scotch Broth and other food makes it quicker.William Wallace(Walleys) was the true freedom fighter on the isle.
