The new Shelby GT500 can make 650hp, with 5.8 litres and a supercharger. The Camaro ZL1 makes 70hp less, with 0.4 litres more, and the Vette ZR1 makes the same amount of HP with 1.2 litres more of engine. Most Chevrolet engines are outdated OHV 2V/cilinder head designs, while Ford uses mostly SOHC and DOHC with 4V/cilinder heads. For the same prize.

@TheCoasterPOV The Boss 429 is an engine made in 1969 capable of making well over 600 Normally Aspirated horsepower with not too much tweaking. The LS9 is a 6.2 litre SUPERCHARGED engine that still even having an Eaton supercharger cannot make much more than a NA Boss 429. The LS7 makes 505hp NA and 650hp WITH a supercharger. Drag racing Boss 429 engines with superchargers have been known to make over 1000hp. All that 40 years before the LS bullshit.
