After watching "The Sword of the Stranger" with the final fight in that movie I think Jin just might win in a one on one battle with Mugen. Cause in "The Sword of the Stranger" it has a fight sequence with a swordsman that uses vicious and wild and yet spontaneous style like Mugen and a swordsman that utilize sharp senses and refined but topnotch fighting style duke it out. I like Mugen better as a character, Jin is cool but I just find his character boring.

Jin Isn't Stronger...Just A More Focused Fighter. If It All Came Down To Raw Ability, Mugen Would Kill Jin. Kariya's Combat Perception Of Mugen Was Enough To Counter Mugen's Instinctual And Unorthodox Fighting Style...But Jin Lacks The Ability To Read Mugen. 9 Times Out Of 10, Mugen Would Win.
