The next fallout will probably use the same/an upgraded version of the one used for skyrim, so already it's miles ahead of the old fallout 3/new vegas engine. Although they might wait untill the next generation of consoles that way they have more power and a newer system to work with, yes they could release it as a PC exclusive earlier but that would slash the revenue gained into a 3rd. :)

To be Fair to get a realistic prop it does cost quite a lot, the ones i'm getting for a web series this summer are gonna cost £100 (about $200) each and that's still cheap relatively. Also possibly getting a suit of power armour, but i haven't been given an estimate for that yet :P
