Reminds me a little of the pool-hall fight sequence in Mean Streets. I need to see this movie, Scorsese was one of the many amazing directors of his time. His quality has kind of gone down in the recent years when you look at classics like Taxi Driver or Raging Bull compared with, say, Shutter Island :/ But nevertheless, the man is a legend, and he deserves respect.

sooooooooo good. I always find this (anyone else?) that in a lot of the great directors directorial debuts, although often the whole picture and story may be lacking something (as they're still learning their craft) there are often moments/scenes/ideas which seem almost bigger and stronger than anything else they ever did? and that's in no way a diss, i find that with many directors
